How have I made improvement in my English language ability so far this semester?
I think that I have made an improvement in my English language because of my change in attitude , oral expression and reducing the time to write an essay. First, my attitude has changed when I speak in English. It means that now I have no fear when I speak to native speakers. For example, at the beginning of this semester, I couldn't talk to a cashier at the supermarket, even though they didn't use difficult words. Now I am no longer nervous when I talk with native speakers. As a result, I can communicate with people better than before. Second, I came to understand a lot of expressions for oral conversation. For example, I didn't understand like this expression. " Is your schedule that backed up?" Before two months ago I only knew the expression "I back up my computer". Finally, I can write an essay faster than before. When the semester started it took 30minutes to write just 80words but now I can write an essay 200words more in 30minutes. It indicates that I can brainstorm a lot and make a good outline during short time before writing the essay. In conclusion, I think that I have improved my English ability so far this semester.

Getting better
I belive that my english skills are getting better. I practice speaking to use recording and I read a book everyday. However, learning English is still very hard for me. I usaully spend my life in a hard time for my future^*^
Do you feel you have made progress in your language skill? why?
I think that I need to practice a little bit more in my structure and in my grammar we I speak because it is really hard to be organize. If I practice more in those things my speaking it is going to be more automatic. Eventually I can noticed that I can speak better but I think that it is not enough.
How does my English has become better!!!!
First of all, I still have a lot of mistakes in grammar and quite a bit in my pronunciation. But, I am doing an effort every day to improve in all areas. For example, something that is helping me tremendously is that I live with an American family, so I speak English all the time. I feel that I have improve more than I think, learning another language requires a sincere effort.

My progress in English
I do not know if a improved my english this semester, I´m learning new things in grammar but for me is difficult to use that because I have few oportunities to practice my english. I think my speaking did not improve nothing because I still make mistakes all the time. I´m confused about other skills I do not know what to say. I thing the best thing that i can do is study more, that´s it.
My progress in English Skills
I think that I made a lot of progress in my English skill specially in Grammar.
Before i was so bad in grammar, I feel that I become better but not good .
I am trying to have a good English skill even though that will be hard for me, but will learn as soon I can. I will keep doing working in my Skills.

The Improvement in My English Language Ability
Actually I did not notice if I have improved my English language ability or not until my friend told me “Yes!” I did improve my English. A couple of weeks ago, I visited my friend in West Jordon. We have not seen each other for two months, of course we had so many things to tell. I told my friend about my stories, which happened at the ELC in the past two months. She told me that I really did improve my English and I used more tenses, for example: I have been waiting for the bus since 1 PM. She told me that even the sentences that I used were very simple but they made the stories more fluent. So don’t underestimate yourself! Do your best, nothing is impossible! you will never realize how great ability you have.
How have I made improvement in my English language ability so far this semester?
Hmm..., I don't know if my English has improved this semester or not... but I think that I've become more comfortable with speaking to myself as I record myself to computer. I hated it last semester, of course I don't still like it, but I've gotten used to it a little bit more because of SMILES log. I do not like SMILES log either, even the name, but I like it in another way since it gives me a lot of great challenges. Although some people don't like pressure, I like being pressured if it's not too much.
I hope I can get better English when the semester ends...

How have I made improvement in my English language ability so far this semester?
Well, I think that I can more fully understand the words when someone is speaking and my vocabulary grew, also I became a better writer because the structures that we have been teaching and practicing this semester. My pronunciation became better and people started understand what I say. My English is getting so much better since I arrive in the U.S.A. and I started study at the ELC.
Do I feel I have made progress in your language skill?
After studying in the ELC for two months, I feel I have improved a lot more than I though I can be. My typing speed has gone to 33WPM from 18WPM. When I am writing a article, I can be more organizing, express my ideas more fluently than I use to, and focus on the topic. Also, I have learn a lot of new words especially academic words.
Do you feel you have made progress in your language skill?
I couldn't recognize my improvement, but if I think the first time that I came to here, I can know how much did I improve to my English skills. It is not too much, but I feel that English is more comfortable. I understand people's conversation even though it is not complete. Also, when I write, I can more express what I want to say. However, my speaking ability is still really weak. It is my the biggest problem. I need to learn more and more.
To analyze your own improvement is a little bit odd, because you can not see easily your own improvement. It is similar to measure kids growing up, we never realize the gradual progress; however, our improvement can be measure by grades, and by how comfortable we feel when we are speaking in English. For me, I believe that my improvement in writing and grammar is growing so slow that I could not noticed. The more I learn, the more I feel that I need to learn more.

reading strategy
To read more efficiently, I think that there are two points. First, guess the main ideas with titles and skimming articles. You can understand contests quickly and easily if you guess them before you read. Second, choose easy things about which you want to know and then read more specialized and difficult things. After gaining knowledge about something you want to know from easy articles , the knowledge will help you read more academic ones.
Reading
When I came to Provo, I often went the Provo library to read children books. I read to many of them. After that, I read my favorite books such as mystery and romantic books. In my opinion, interesting books may help you so much to improve reading skills.

Reading
When we read is important to assimilate the information in order to progress academically or in any way. On some occasions we have assignments to read very large files. The reading does not mean you know, so it is best to patterns of information that will help us understand these readings and to study for a better way. Reading is practiced, while we read more the better our understanding and ability.
Becoming a better reader
The most obviously way of improve ones reading capabilities is to read a lot more. The more you read, the better reader you become. In this regard I’d recommend you to not only read a lot but also to read frequently. We can make a schedule for reading everyday. Be sure to keep yourself accountable. If you want to become a better reader you need to have discipline.
Reading!!!!
Reading is the biggest strategies for me. When I read I felt really tired.
I don't really like do that, but I should too ,because that will help me to fix my English Skill.
Reading is the good way to learn a lot of things like, vocabulary, new words and have more comprehensions. I like to read in my own Languages but not in english , that make me kinda boring. Anyway guys don't give up, keep going. Read the book which can make us feel happy and interest for you.
Have Fun!!!!!!!
Strategies for reading
Reading in English is hard for me, so I would choose a book that I am interested to help me focus on the book. Also don't choose a book which is too easy or hard for you. if it is too easy you can not learn from the book, too hard you don't understand and it makes you feel sleepy. Try to guess the meaning of vocabulary when you see new words. If you think it is an important word, write it down and build up your vocabulary notes. This is how I read and learn new vocabulary :)

Becoming a better reader
I like to read the news every day because I can find new and academic vocabulary, also reading is something that I enjoy doing because I know that if I read consistently my writing will eventually get a lot more better. In addition highlighting the past tense of all the verbs is something that I found useful......becoming an efficient reader is a process of all your life.
Became a Better Reader
I´m not sure how became a better reader in English, but I think it could be read, read , and read. Because when I started to study English I never thought that I could do it. To practice made me more confident in reading. I think in the same time we need to learn and memorize new words because if we dont understand the meaning of the words, we can read quick but we will not understand nothing. Only read is not a good goal. Read and understand this need to be our real goal. We do not have another choice only read, read, and read, and have patient.
Some Strategies or Skills that Have Helped Me to Become a Better Reader
I think that what helped me was to choose some reading that was very interesting for me because its become a pleasurable activity. In additional when I choose some reading that I am familiar with, I can read faster with the same level of comprehension and I can guess the words easily.
Metacognitive Blog Post 4 -Becoming a Better Reader-
Hmm..., this is a very difficult topic to write for me...because my reading skill is very poor. Hmmm........probably...if you learn more new vocabulary words and grammar, you would be able to understand what you read, maybe. I don't know. I'm not sure.
Actually if I don't use a dictionary when I read academic reading, I cannot understand anything at all. I've heard many people say that we shouldn't use a dictionary as we read as far as possible-we need to guess the word we don't know by the content. However, it wasn't a good idea for me because I couldn't understand anything without a dictionary. So I prefer to use a dictionary as I read in order to understand fully.
I think that if someone really want to increase his reading skill and vocabulary words, he ought not to use a dictionary as he reads, because if he used a dictionary always, he cannot have opportunities to think by himself, also he can forget easily the word he looked up. But for school assignment, not using a dictionary is not a very good idea. We have quizzes and tests for our reading assignments frequently, so we have to understand and memorize everything what we read. ...Anyways, reading is super difficult!!!!

Strategies for reading
Reading is really hard to me because I don't know many vocabulary. Also, I'm so slow to read. It is my problem. I think knowing vocabulary and read quickly is the most important strategies. For that, we need to be a diligent. Memorize vocabulary and read regulary. Taking note that organize to important information is also helpful for reading. It is easy to say and I knew already a lot of strategies, but practicing is hard to me.
I have been reading the newspaper and the book for the book report asigement everyday. Also, I read the "soft reading" three times a week, and in my oppinion that strategies have helped me to improve my reading skills.

Typing and learning new vocabularies effected me faster than other activities. They both helped me got my reading rate from 95 words/min to 110 words/min within two weeks. I didn't really spend time on them more than other activities, but I can comprehend more than last two weeks because I saw the new words I've just learned, and typing really helped me on recognize the meaning faster.

Metacognitive Blog Post 4
Dear Students,
This week I want you to think about some strategies or skills that have helped you to become a better reader. You can talk about both narrative and expository reading if you would like.
You can focus on top-down skills like comprehension, or bottom-up skills like vocabulary and inferencing skills.
Good luck!
