I realized thant enjoying studying and maintaining my good condition are more importnt for me to improve my English. I don't satisfied with my studying but I think that my English actually has developed. My goal for next semester is to focus on classes , writing an essay 300 for 30minutes in less grammar erros and speaking without pause.

It feels different studying alone from studying in the classroom. When feel like I really need to focus on my assignment, I prefer bringing my homework home and finish it alone. Those group subjects I do with my classmates of course, and also stay in the lab when I don't feel like doing any work to cheer myself up.
There are several goals I have for future improvement, such as, I want to finish the two books That I choose for the Christmas break,
I think I'll just keep up reading to prepare for the next semester.
The typing program, soft read, all kinds of exercises that the reading teacher gave us, writing assignments, lab hours and the activities were all very helpful.
But the presentations we did were not effective except the one with movies.
Endure to the end!!!
I have improved my English for this semester, but not as much as last semester. But I think that is my problem, I did not try my best. I remembered last semester I had an assignment for Listening and speaking class was watching movie/TV for half hour. Another assignment for Writing was writing down your daily life for 10 minutes. For me, these two assignment helped me a lot. This semester I learned how to enjoy writing! Next semester I will take a break, I will make plans to study by my own to prepare next semester just like what we did this semester. I know I need to improve my Listening, vocabulary and Writing words count. I think learning languages you need to have the heart and endure to the end. Add oil! Haha that’s how we say in Chinese to encourage people!!!

As I look back on This Semester...
Actually, I hadn't been able to recognize the improvement of my English skills, but I realized that I've surely progressed my English so far since the beginning of this semester. I've learned the importance of working hard continuously in this semester. To sum up, I liked this semester and am grateful for my teachers! Of course for my classmates too!
Metacognitive Blog Post 7
This is the last assignment on the metacognitive blog this semester. I want you to think and then write about this semester's learning experience in the GAP. Here are some questions that can help you:
- Do I feel like I have improved my English? Why or why not?
- Do I feel like I know how to better learn by myself and in the classroom?
- What goals do I have for future improvement with my English learning?
- What can I do to prepare myself for next semester?
- What has been helpful to me this semester?
- What has been unhelpful to me?

Language Learning Skills
Oh, I almost forgot, but for reading, I sometimes use the same strategies as in Japanese when I read in English and answer questions. I skim the passage first, then I start to answer the questions. I don't read the whole passage deliberately, but only the important information to answer the questions. As I use this strategy, sometimes I make mistakes, but mostly I get correct answers. I think it is a good skill for reading.
how I can apply my native language in English language learning.
I used to write a dairy in Korean before I came to U. S.A. This made my daily problems solve well and calmed myself. As a result , In this process, I used a lot of various words to express my thinking and feeling. So I think that writing a diary is a good way to be applied to improve English language because it needs to think and express in English. First, looking back a day through, I think about events and feelings. Second, the process of writing, I have to check words and sentences to express my thinking and feeling exactly as much as I can. In conclusion, writing a daily in English is one of the best ways to develop my English.

Metacognitive Blog Post 6
It time to think about thinking again. This blog post assignment I want you to write about what skills you already possess in your native language and how you have used, or how you want to use them better in English. For example, you might be an excellent reader in your native language because you read a lot, or you might an excellent listener because you take notes. So you need to think about something you do well in your native language and then discuss how you have applied or how you can apply it in your English language learning.
Have a great weekend!

How have I made improvement in my English language ability so far this semester?
I think that I have made an improvement in my English language because of my change in attitude , oral expression and reducing the time to write an essay. First, my attitude has changed when I speak in English. It means that now I have no fear when I speak to native speakers. For example, at the beginning of this semester, I couldn't talk to a cashier at the supermarket, even though they didn't use difficult words. Now I am no longer nervous when I talk with native speakers. As a result, I can communicate with people better than before. Second, I came to understand a lot of expressions for oral conversation. For example, I didn't understand like this expression. " Is your schedule that backed up?" Before two months ago I only knew the expression "I back up my computer". Finally, I can write an essay faster than before. When the semester started it took 30minutes to write just 80words but now I can write an essay 200words more in 30minutes. It indicates that I can brainstorm a lot and make a good outline during short time before writing the essay. In conclusion, I think that I have improved my English ability so far this semester.

My progress in English
I do not know if a improved my english this semester, I´m learning new things in grammar but for me is difficult to use that because I have few oportunities to practice my english. I think my speaking did not improve nothing because I still make mistakes all the time. I´m confused about other skills I do not know what to say. I thing the best thing that i can do is study more, that´s it.
My progress in English Skills
Before i was so bad in grammar, I feel that I become better but not good .
I am trying to have a good English skill even though that will be hard for me, but will learn as soon I can. I will keep doing working in my Skills.
The Improvement in My English Language Ability
Actually I did not notice if I have improved my English language ability or not until my friend told me “Yes!” I did improve my English. A couple of weeks ago, I visited my friend in West Jordon. We have not seen each other for two months, of course we had so many things to tell. I told my friend about my stories, which happened at the ELC in the past two months. She told me that I really did improve my English and I used more tenses, for example: I have been waiting for the bus since 1 PM. She told me that even the sentences that I used were very simple but they made the stories more fluent. So don’t underestimate yourself! Do your best, nothing is impossible! you will never realize how great ability you have.

Becoming a better reader
Became a Better Reader
Some Strategies or Skills that Have Helped Me to Become a Better Reader
Metacognitive Blog Post 4 -Becoming a Better Reader-
Actually if I don't use a dictionary when I read academic reading, I cannot understand anything at all. I've heard many people say that we shouldn't use a dictionary as we read as far as possible-we need to guess the word we don't know by the content. However, it wasn't a good idea for me because I couldn't understand anything without a dictionary. So I prefer to use a dictionary as I read in order to understand fully.
I think that if someone really want to increase his reading skill and vocabulary words, he ought not to use a dictionary as he reads, because if he used a dictionary always, he cannot have opportunities to think by himself, also he can forget easily the word he looked up. But for school assignment, not using a dictionary is not a very good idea. We have quizzes and tests for our reading assignments frequently, so we have to understand and memorize everything what we read. ...Anyways, reading is super difficult!!!!

Metacognitive Blog Post 4
This week I want you to think about some strategies or skills that have helped you to become a better reader. You can talk about both narrative and expository reading if you would like.
You can focus on top-down skills like comprehension, or bottom-up skills like vocabulary and inferencing skills.
Good luck!

Third, I have to concentrate on my classes and express my opinion to improve my English. Finally, no matter what I study, my motivation is my engine for accomplishment.
