Do you Feel you Have Improved your English This Semester?

When the semester just started I was struggling English. Any kind of communication was really hard and rough. I often spoke with errors and think in English was hard. Now, after this semester at the ELC I feel so much better. I also increase my reading comprehension with reading strategies and also now I can read faster. In conclusion I like to say that now I am closer to my goal of dominate the English language.

How Can English Help in my Future Occupation?

The phenomenon of globalization has made English a fundamental tool for work. I am from a city with an important mining activity and I have seen how professionals are more considered when then know how to speak English. Now English is a necessity to communicate with the rest of the world. I want to be an Electrical Engineering. On the field of engineering, English is vital to get a good job. Engineers that speak both English and Spanish will be selected to better jobs.

what I do to learn English

I focus on what I am interested in to learn Englsih. For example, I like goship girl and friends that are TV show programs. First of all, I just watch that dramas with Korean subtitle. Until I am familiar with contents of that drama, I repeat. It's it not irritating because I like that drama. After repeating. I'm curious what the characters said in the drama. That means I might find the subtitle in English. I can start to study Englsih now because I can be familiar with a lot of expressions that is used by the characters. Also, the expressions are very useful in real life. It is my method to learn English.

How Can English Help Me in My Future Occupation?

Actually, I can't find my dream yet, I don't know about my future occupation. However, even though I don't know my dream yet, it is for sure that English can helps me. English is very important to get a good job and rise up to good position in Korea whatever I get a job. In other word, English is kind of fundamental source because we live in a global era and Englsih is general language in the era. That's why I should study English because I already know Englsih will be help me in my future.

Do you feel you have improved your English this semester?

Yes I think but it is little bit. I expected what I was bigger than now. If I work harder, if I try to not watch Korean dramas, if I didn't hit the slumb at the end, my English is better than now? I don't know. I really wanted to dream in English but I couldn't. Other people told my my English has improved, but I'm frustrated.

My English improvement

I feel like I am doing great. Now I can see that I have developed some skills. First, When I listen to a native speakers I can usdertand better what the are saying. I really feel good when I can talk to them and share my thought and feelings. Also, I think that my essays are better, are more formal. It was hard for me because I cannot organize my ideas but now I know the things that i have to focus to imrpove my essays. I really feel my improvement. It is a big difference, but I know that I have to keep going doing well to be better over time.

Do you feel you have improved your English this semester?

When I analyzed if I had improved my English this semester, I'm sure that the answer is yes. However I improved less than I want. For my goals I need to have a better English then now, like speak, read and write with more quality then I'm doing now. I can feel that I improved my listening a lot, but grammar continues not good, and in a conversation usually I don't have enough vocabulary.
Although I increased my English skills this semester, I am not like I want. Because of that, when I analyze how much I improve, I can see that I am increasing but a little far of my goal.

The improvements about my English skills

I'm not satisfied with my English skills yet. In order to fulfill my dream, it isn't sufficient. However, I can find positive change about my attitude. When I came here, I'm afraid of speaking everything because other people can't understand what I say. Even though my step start like this, I can get help from my teachers, classmates and friends. So now, I'm confident with speaking English though others can't understand. I think that only practice makes me perfect. Until I return my home country, I would give one hundreds percent of effort to study English.

The Improvements This Semester in English

I’m not a good speaker yet, but I have made improvements this semester in speaking and listening. Especially, the speaking activity that we have at 4th class is helpful for me. We talk about TOEFL topic and record our voice and get feedback. The beginning of this semester, I couldn’t speak fluently at all. Moreover, I had lots of pausing. However, thanks to this speaking activity, I have felt my improvements in speaking and listening. And other skills are also improving. I’m so grateful for my classmates and teachers :)

My English Improvement

Now that the semester is ending I can notice that I have had a significant improvement in my English. I think I have improved the four skills which are listening, speaking, writing and reading. If I can say that I have improved in listening is because now I can understand better to native speakers and I can watch movies in English without subtitles without a problem. I acknowledged that my speaking has improved because my English is more fluent and more accurate than before and also my pronunciation is better. My writing has improved in quality and form. Before studying here, I could hardly differentiate between essays and articles, but now I know the difference between these papers, but also that there are many types of essays and different organization styles. I have noticed a big improvement in reading because I can read faster and comprehend better; also I can understand more complex and academic words. Without a doubt my studies have shown good results and a noticeable improvement in my English. Still, I know that there are many things in which I can be better, and I will strain to achieve it.
