How Can English Help Me in My Future Occupation?

I have two reasons to want to learn English. The first reason is related to my experiences when I was a missionary. I really desired to learn English because of my improvement. By studying English, my understanding about the gospel is getting better. The second reason is related to my experiences when I was a nurse. I want to be a nurse such as professional of pediatrics. To be a professional, I want to learn nursing more at the graduate shool. In these reason, English will help me in my future.

How Can English Help Me in My Future Occupation?

I have stadied English since I was 14 years old. Then, I attended English conversation school to improve my English skills. I stadied hard. I had a great English teacher, Daisuke. He understood every-single-my mind. And also, he always helped me outside of the classes. After I graduated from high school, he was transferred to another school. Then I thought, "I really want to be an English teacher like he did!" Actually I like playing with kids, so I want to teach them. This is my dream.

How Can English Help Me in My Future Occupation?

The English actually is important in all occupations in the world. Now we're living in a globalizated world, and the universal lenguage is English. So knowing the lenguage makes communication possible with the whole world. Personally, English is a useful resource for my future occupation and my upcoming life. As well, I shared with the class my future occupation, I really want to be a chef. Furthermore I want to help and teach people how to eat better. poor eating habbits contribute to the huge problem of obesity and improper feeding in the world. Consecuently, I need to learn English for the correct communication with the people around the world.

How Can English Help Me in My Future Occupation?

I want to be historian and international officer in the future. Korea has about five thousand years of history. For this reason, it has brilliant and miserable history at the same time. Due to this long history, it has many cultural treasures. However, a lot of cultural treasures are located in foreign countires. So my final dream is to study and research for getting back Korean cultural treasures and work for UNESCO(United Nations Educational, Scienfic and Cultural Organization). For this reason, it's important that I study English so that I can communicate my ideas of getting back cultural treasures in international society. Also that's why I come to study here.

How Can English Help Me in My Future Occupation?

When I was in Brazil, I finished my university in business, and then I started to work in a company. While I was working, I could realize why and how the english will be important in my career. First, because the company that I worked is a multinacional, then is necessary have contact with people from South America, United States and Europe. For example, some information comes from affiliates in other countries, and sometimes is necessary to send information for other countries too. Second, usually a person want to grow in his career, and to do it the English will be essential. I had some bad experience about it, because I had some opportunities that I lost because my English was not like the necessary. Then, this is the reason that I think this language will be important for me.

Well, I want to study International Business, so that English is essencial in my career. In specific I want to import and export products around the world . Around the world people speak different languages but English is an international language. If I want to reach my goal I need to learn English. If I want to communicate and make business around the world I need to learn English. English is my key to be succesful.

How Can English Help Me in My Future Occupation?

I want to tell you how English help me in my future occupation for two reasons. First of all, in South Korea, I can get a job better than someone who can't speak English, if I can speak English well. For example, when I was in high school, I really wanted to get a part time job. One day, my friend asked me to teach English and math to her brother, sister. Then I earned a lot of money and got experiences. In addition, I can learn more different subjects. For instance, I'v been learning English for university. And I had a lot of opportunities reading books to learn English. Therefore, I got variety subjects such as history of Europe, mystery of world etc. I also learned vocabulary. :)

I want to become a cardio-vascular surgeon, a person who performs heart surgery one day.  To accomplish this dream I need to be able to speak English fluently so that I can study at a US university. Right now I am working on improving my English and academic English skills so that I can do well in university. For example some things I am doing to prepare are to read and study articles about the cardio-vascular system and about the medical profession in the United States. In addition I also watch lectures on TED TV and on MIT's website. Hopefully I can soon take the TOEFL and start university in the United States.

Leaning English

Learning English is really difficult for me, especially reading. I do not like reading even though it is in my native language. But I would like to overcome it. I always set a time to read books or newspaper, and make a goal as well every day. This practice is really helpful for me because I can see how I can progress. In other words, I can compare with other days. This way is the best for me.

I was learning English in past time

When I came here, I didn't have any confidence. I also was really embarrassed if I talked with American Native speaker. Because I couldn't speak well. I decided that I have to speak with someone. One day, I met Ryan and we went on dating. While we were spending time, we always spoke English each other. And he kept fixing my sentences, I tried to memorize. Finally, after 4 month, I spoke English better than past time :) Therefore, I think we have to make friends using English.

Memorizing new words

I noticed in the last days that I always forget the same words, and to change this nowadays I am studying and practicing the words that I put in the Vocalaboration. Then, when I am speaking something I can say what I want easier than before, and it's better to read texts too. Because of that, I try to update the Vocalaboration whenever I can.

Reading Skills

These days I have been working with my reading, I was trying to increase my reading speed, to do it I used some reading techniques. First, I select something to read, second I review the reading skill in my notes, some reading techniques were better than others and I select two (reading chunks and thin questions). Before this I wrote the time that I used reading. Finally the results: My comprehension and reading increase significantly and also I'm happier because I'm reading faster.

What I did to learn English

In this week, I wrote 30 minute essay with Emliy at the same time. We chose a same topic and count time to write precisely. In next week, we will read each paper and advise what changes in essay is better. And I prepared presentation with Roberto. This activity was helpful for improving speaking skills.

How I learn English this week.

During my speaking class, I prepared a presentantion and I recorded my talk and that activity was helpful, because pushed me to increase my speaking rate, even though when I wrote essay help me to think fast and write better and organized.

Talking with myself !

I know that the things that I'm going to say are a little bit stupid, but that really works. First, in the morning the first thing that I do is think that I need to think in English and something that usually happen to me is that I talk very fluently English with myself !!! In addition I push myself to think in English almost all the time.

I think that if I can talk with myself fluently and in English ! I suppose to talk in English fluently to the people ! I just need more practice and relax.

what I do to learn English

To improve my English this week I watched series of Disney because those programs are easier to understand, I think that I can learn the accent and improve my pronunciation. Also I heard conversations of the native speakers. I think that I have to improve in my speaking so, I tried to listen as much as possible to learn the best way to communicate.

30 mins

The day of Michigan test will come soon again so I practice essay. I choose the topic from TOEFL, and I asked my friends who has taken the test, what have you already done the topic. Then, use the timer and just do it. It's really simple but to practice 30 mins essay is really helpful for me ;) I talked to you during the Lab hour, the flush cards is also good to study. Hopely this blog is good for you!

Something I did the last week

Last week, I tried to talk with a shopkeeper! They always talk to me something, but it's not common in Japan. I know that almost all of you don't feel it's not difficult. But it's difficult for me! Sometimes(not sometimes...) I can't understand what they said. They talk so fast and not clearly! To talk with a shopkeeper is one of big problem for me :( I hope someday I will be able to understand their words!!

how I pick up English

I watch American teleplay a lot, I take notes of the new words and phrases when I'm watching teleplays. It's a good way to pick up English and it can help to conquer the guilty that you spend so much time on the teleplay. hah---
